Wedding – Jana + Matt – Rio de Janeiro
Hey, here I am after a whole year without posting on this blog! Haha!
We’ve been fully active, but the rush and other priorities kept me from posting here—after all, a post like this takes quite a bit of time selecting images and designing the layout. But enough chit-chat, let’s talk about the couple featured in this post.
Jana and Matt live in England, met in the US, and came to get married in Rio de Janeiro!
That’s what I call real global taste—an international couple through and through! Haha!
I was lucky enough to spend three days with them, working alongside people I truly love. Mara, Daniel Mendes, and Igor Mendes (DVM Films) were with me, sharing the responsibility of capturing the wedding in photos and video.
Oh, and before you ask: yes, they received the photos in color too. I chose to publish this post in black and white because I really liked the aesthetic. I hope you enjoy the moments, contrasts, and textures without the distraction of color. Let me know in the comments whether you liked it—or didn’t! Your opinion matters.

Day 1: Boat Party
Let’s kick off this post with the welcome boat party, which was a unique experience for everyone involved—guests and professionals alike. It was impossible not to get swept up in the energy and have fun alongside them.
We boarded a boat at Marina da Glória and sailed to a calm spot in Guanabara Bay where guests could take in the views and enjoy a swim. We returned at sunset, and it was epic.
Day 2: The Wedding
The wedding took place at a venue called Meio do Mato Eventos, which literally means “in the middle of the woods” — and yes, it’s just that! A beautiful spot, perfect for outdoor weddings.
Mara arrived early in the morning to photograph the getting ready, while I stayed in the city with Matt and the groomsmen until it was time to head to the ceremony.
