Engagement Session – Thaís & Tim – New York City
Thaís and Tim’s families are friends because 45 years ago, Tim’s dad came to Brazil to learn how to speak Portuguese (yes, we don’t speak Spanish).

During the World Cup, Tim and his dad came to Brazil together to watch the games and they re-encountered Thais’ dad in at a club here in Fortaleza. After that, Thais’ dad invited Tim and his father to their home for a dinner the next day.
Thais was at home and met Tim as he sat on the couch in her living room sitting with a shy smile on his face. Tim said “hello” and from that moment on they started a friendship.
They continued to talk after that and one day, Tim’s dad invited Thaís to go to New York to study English. Thaís said yes and made her way to NYC.
She told me that it was meant to be. They got closer and closer and their friendship became love and they started to date. That love just grew stronger with the language barrier, the cultural differences and the distance between Brazil and the US.
They are planning to get married in 2018 in Brazil and are really excited about celebrating their love with their families and friends.
I’d love to be their destination wedding photographer. Hope they also hire me for this. Haha.
Thais told me that they loved their engagement session in New York because I have a relaxed way of working and this made Tim comfortable in front of the camera.
After the photo shoot in DUMBO we went out together to Shake Shack. It was my first time there and I loved it!
Update: Tim wrote an awesome review about their experience with me and I’d like to share it with you guys.
“While looking for Brazilian Wedding photographers, my Fiancé and I found Arthur through some of his past work. We contacted him for our upcoming wedding in Fortaleza, CE and he happened to be visiting New York City that same week. As we currently reside in NYC, we booked him for our engagement photo shoot (e-session) while he was in town.
We had our session in Brooklyn (DUMBO) over looking the Manhattan Skyline. From the very moment we met Arthur, he was warm, enjoyable, and professional. He had great recommendations for locations, capturing the very essence of our relationship. We felt not only comfortable but greatly enjoyed our entire experience with Arthur. He truly is a master of his craft and promotes a happy experience.
We highly recommend Arthur as he is a fantastic professional and all around genuine person. The photos came out fantastically and we look forward to working and visiting with him in the future.”
The guy in the picture below is me. Thank you, Thais, for the photo. Love it.
