Some encounters are special gifts from destiny. Mariana and Tiago crossed the Atlantic from Portugal with one initial goal: to celebrate their close friends’ wedding here in Ceará. However, they decided their trip to Brazil deserved a session of their own, taking advantage of the tropical climate for a pre-wedding shoot that connected their story with the iconic landscapes of our coastline.
We chose Cumbuco Beach as our main setting. We began the afternoon exploring the area near Pico das Almas, a location that offers unique natural textures and a sense of tranquility perfect for those looking to escape the crowds and focus on what truly matters: connection.
Photographing Mariana and Tiago was an incredibly effortless task. There is a natural fluidity in how they interact; their connection is visible in every gesture, which allowed me to work in a more documentary style, capturing the couple’s essence without the need for rigid or forced poses.
Ceará’s Gold
We were very lucky with the weather. Ceará gifted us with a deep blue sky and clean light, which became a show of its own when we decided to climb the Cumbuco Dunes for the finale.
Ending the session atop the dunes at sunset is always a magical experience. The golden light bathing the sand created the perfect contrast to highlight the couple’s affection, resulting in images that convey exactly the peace and joy they felt that day.

For this session, I aimed for an aesthetic that blended classic portraiture with landscape photography, using the Canon RF system:
